WELCOME TO LEARNING AND DEVELOPMENT LAB

Our lab is interested in exploring how children learn and what makes them better learners.  We believe that while most children’s learning is governed by some general principles, some children learn in a way different from the others.  The purpose of our projects is to examine the learning mechanisms of both typically developing children as well as children with special needs.  Our research covers various topics including children’s cognitive development, mathematical skills, learning difficulties, and learning strategies.  We also look into how the home environment can affect children’s learning.  To transfer the findings of our research to real-life applications, we conduct intervention studies and devise instructional tools to enhance children’s learning.
